The Fort of Edam is a special place to visit. The fort was part of the Defense Line of Amsterdam and was formerly used to protect the city against enemies. During the Second World War, the fort was also used by German troops. You can walk around the old walls and view the bunkers while enjoying the view of the surroundings.
