About Zutphen

Zutphen is a beautiful city on the banks of the river IJssel. It is one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands with countless historic buildings, green courtyards in the middle of the center, colorful alleys, unique boutiques and specialty stores. Whether you come to wander through the centuries-old city center, enjoy nature or taste the welcoming atmosphere- Zutphen welcomes you with open arms!

Zutphen is a city in the east of the Netherlands that has much to offer. Its beautiful location on the river IJssel makes it a perfect starting point for wonderful cycling and walking tours. And with its rich history dating back to the Middle Ages, there is something for everyone. Here are a few of my favorite recommendations:

Things to do in Zutphen

1. Musea Zutphen

Musea Zutphen is a unique museum with two museums under one roof. Discover the rich history in the Stedelijk Museum Zutphen and be inspired by modern-classical painting and sculpture in Museum Henriette Polak.

2. Boat trip

Board an electric boat and discover Zutphen from the water. The trip on the Berkel will give you a wonderful view of the city and its hidden spots.

3. De Walburgiskerk en Librije

Right in the heart of Zutphen, the majestic Walburgiskerk towers over the city.  Step into a world of medieval splendour, admire the ancient books still attached to their chains and experience the timeless atmosphere of this special place.
