Keukenhof is the international and independent show window of Dutch ornamental horticulture, with an emphasis on bulbous flowers. Over eight weeks, Keukenhof showcases what Dutch ornamental horticulture has to offer. The emphasis in the park is on the 7 million spring flowering bulbs.
The presence of both moorland and sandy soil provides a great diversity of flora and fauna. Keukenhof estate has numerous birds, insects, reptiles and mammals. It is also the abode of animals that are less often seen such as bright blue kingfishers and deer. Cows graze on our organic farmer's pastures. We also cooperate with a beekeeper who keeps several bee colonies on our property.
At Keukenhof, 100 flower bulb companies and growers (exhibitors) display their finest assortment of spring-flowering bulbous plants.
In other words, a wonderful walk that contains much more than just flower beds with the most beautiful flowers.
