Rotterdam

About Rotterdam

Rotterdam is a large, modern city that is very different from the typical historic cities in the Netherlands. Because Rotterdam was bombed during World War II, it is very modern, with an impressive skyline.

Rotterdam is known for its modern and unique architecture. From the Market Hall to the cube houses and the Erasmus Bridge, you see modern buildings everywhere. The city also has many museums, such as the Boijmans Van Beuningen Museum and the Maritime Museum, where you can discover art, history, and shipping. Rotterdam also has an impressive port, making it an important city not only in the Netherlands but also in Europe. Furthermore, Rotterdam is a great city for strolling along the harbor, through the shopping streets, or through the city center.

Because the new and old districts are intertwined, Rotterdam is a very unique city in the Netherlands that is definitely worth a visit.
